“I can’t believe I struck out every single time,” Keaton says with a whine. “I tried all night and not one goddamn penis wanted me to touch it. God, my fucking feet hurt so bad.”

Antes de tudo, eu tenho que admitir uma curiosidade: como eu escolhi esse livro para ler e resenhar. Quando você escolhe novos autores para ler, várias coisas podem ser levadas em consideração. Capa, sinopse, indicação de um amigo, uma resenha, anúncio, e diversos outros métodos. Nesse livro, o meu foi um pouco não convencional! Achei uma autora com o mesmo nome que o meu! Vocês tem ideia do quanto é raro achar outra Janine? Quase impossível! Ao ler o nome da autora eu não resisti e escolhi esse livro para ler e resenhar. E que grata surpresa isso foi! Um livro envolvente, personagens bem desenvolvidos, suspense no nível certo e um romance de segunda chance super crível. Além de uma criança super fofa para você se apaixonar. Mesmo este sendo o quinto livro da série, não me senti perdida na história e todos os personagens já pré-existentes foram bem apresentados. Se você gosta de livros de MC, com toda a camaradagem e violência que existe nesse gênero, eu super recomendo a leitura!

After an unorthodox way of choosing this book – I have the same name as the author – I was pleasant surprised with the story. A truly MC book, with sex, violence and drugs, it’s also a beautiful second chance romance with well develop characters and a lovable kid! The love story was a slow burn that let you cheering for Mac and Bas and all the suspense kept a good pace for the book.  Even if it is not the first book in the series, I didn’t feel lost and all the old characters were well introduced. I’ll for sure be reading more in this series!

Eu li esse livro há 9 dias e posso dizer que ainda não terminei de processar tudo que ocorreu. Deixei para escrever essa resenha no último minuto, tentando ao máximo colocar em palavras tudo que senti lendo essa história. Eu sinceramente não sabia nem quantas estrelas dar assim que terminei de ler. Não conseguia determinar de tinha amado ou odiado o livro. Cheguei à conclusão de que amei o livro, odiei um de seus personagens. Esse é o tipo de história ame ou odeie. Em que cada pessoa que leu vai ter um ponto de vista e defendê-lo com unhas e dentes. Cada um enxergará uma história de amor diferente, de acordo com suas experiências de vida e no que ela acredita ser certo. Sabe aquele tipo de livro que você não pode falar nada senão você estará estragando a grande surpresa da história? Então, The Downside of Love é isso multiplicado por um milhão. Como fazer uma resenha que você não pode falar nada da história? Difícil né? Por isso eu deixo vocês com as minhas emoções sobre o livro e com o conselho de ler esse dueto. Se você já leu o primeiro livro, principalmente o chocante epílogo, você deve pensar que tem uma ideia do que acontece no segundo livro. Sinto te dizer que você estará embarcando numa grande surpresa! Cada página que eu virava era uma emoção diferente e um soco no estômago ainda maior! Mais uma vez eu digo, leia esse dueto que você não vai se arrepender! Minha única critica real, e o motivo de eu ter tirado uma estrela, é que eu passei boa parte do livro confundida pelas datas e mesmo depois de reler o primeiro livro e checar várias vezes os eventos, eu ainda acho que tem algo errado em sua timeline.

I’ve finished this book 9 days ago and have yet to digest this story. It was such a different and impact-full book that it was almost impossible to decide how to rate it. In the end, I reduced one star because of the timeline, as I’m yet not convinced about the dates that all happened. I had so many questions about the story and was feeling utterly confused with it all, but I decided that it was Meghan’s wish, to get us to confront our believes and everyone of the readers would interpret it on a different way. It’s so strange writing a review where you can’t tell anything or you’ll spoil it for the reader. I can’t say names, events, anything. The only thing that I have to say is that you need to read this duet. If you have already read book one, I can say you are going on a wild ride on book two and everything you  thing will happen, you’ll totally mistaken!

De acordo com o GoodReads, esse é meu livro número 48 da Jasinda. Se eu tivesse que apostar, ainda diria que devo ter lido mais alguns que eu acabei não marcando ainda. Como sempre, Jasinda consegue me surpreender como ela consegue escrever em tantos gêneros diferentes, mas manter sua voz.
Dad Bod é uma série com personagens mais velhos, na casa dos 40 anos, uma fatia tão pequena do mercado de romance.
Hammered é uma excelente introdução à serie, com personagens adoráveis, cenas super quentes e fáceis de você se enxergar no lugar deles.
Posso dizer que passei o livro inteiro com um sorriso no rosto, e o mesmo sorriso está aqui enquanto relembro de tudo para escrever essa resenha.
Imogen e Jesse são um casal que vai conquistar o seu coração.
Mal posso esperar para ler os próximos livros da série.

I always admire how Jasinda can write in so many genres, but you can always hear her voice. According to GoodReads this is my book #48 by Jasinda and I can say it was been as good as always.
Dad Bod characters are not your common romance characters. They are in their forties, so it’s so much easier to relate to them.
Jasse and Imogen chemistry is of the charts and their banter is amazing! I read the whole book with a smile on my face.
Hammered is a great introduction to the series and I can’t wait to read more.
